Here are some information of Icelandic Horse
Acres, Inc. Icelandic Horse Acres, Inc.
We are often asked how we started with Icelandic Horses. In December of 1989, my wife Karen read an article on the Icelandic Horse. We were spellbound by the description of these wonderfully unique creatures and intrigued with the combination of a naturally gaited horse with an unusual look and a most gentle personality. Within three years we expanded to become the second largest Icelandic Horse farm in the United States. Most importantly, the quality of our herd had improved to the point that we are now quite confident that the quality of both our Icelandic Horses and our commitment to service are second to none. We have, at any given time, approximately thirty plus Icelandic Horses at Icelandic Horse Acres. Our aim is to promote this wonderful breed and to offer everyone who visits us the horse of their dreams! Of course the overall temperament of this breed makes it a great horse for anyone, men, women, or children; large or small. In August of 1995 we sold 4 Icelandic horses (one being a first prize palomino stallion) to a well-known heavyweight boxing champion. So you see, regardless of the Icelandic Horses smaller stature, it is a sturdy horse that even a big man can ride with confidence. My wife, Karen, is now the publisher of the Icelandic Horse and Travel Magazine, Inc., the first color magazine devoted to Icelandic Horses in North America. The magazines international readership is expanding rapidly, and the quality continues to improve with each informative issue. We are truly a family operation! Our entire family (we have grown to include nine children plus our two foster children) is involved with this spectacular animal. The Icelandic Horse has helped to teach responsibility and respect to all who come in contact with it. We are truly a family operation with everyone involved in some part of the promotion of Icelandic Horses in the United States. This has helped us to be a very close-knit family. We all pull together as a team in promoting the Icelandic Horse and in maintaining quality service to our customers and friends. If you are interested in learning more about how to bring an Icelandic Horse into your life and heart, or if you simply want to learn more about them, please feel free to call us at (509) 924-8112, fax (509) 924-5917, or e-mail at info@icehorse.com.
